About Low Impact Forestry Ltd
Low Impact Forestry Services Ltd are committed to an ecological approach to forestry and woodland management. To this end, in 2019 we added the Logbullet to our inventory of equipment, allowing us to offer a more specialised extraction service to a niche market.
Serving throughout Yorkshire, Country Durham, Cumbria, and as far as Northumberland, we have built up a client list including private estates, landowners, forestry contractors, and MOD contracts.
How We Started
Mike began his career in the tree industry as a groundsman in 2012 after gaining qualifications in chainsaw use, and relevant units including cross cutting, maintenance, and felling of small and large trees. Valuable experience was gained in these formative years in all aspects of tree work, including domestic, commercial, highways, and utility work.
In 2018 Mike saw a niche gap in the industry, in the management of forests and woodlands using low impact forestry methods. This opened up a whole new chapter in Mike’s progression as a professional forester and quickly developed into a passion. After several months of research, education, and more training, Mike purchased a Logbullet forwarder and in 2019 Low Impact Forestry Ltd was born.
Mike extended his qualifications with a FMOC forwarder ticket, firewood processor ticket, as well as completing an updated first aid + f course. Low Impact Forestry is fully insured for all our operations, carrying £5 million public liability, £10 million employers liability, and £5 million products liability.
After a successful first year in business our goal is to increase our current growth rate and client base in the local area, whilst continuing to promote the virtues of low impact forestry to the wider public.
