Low Impact Forestry Services
Low Impact Forestry Services Ltd are committed to an ecological approach to forestry and woodland management. To this end, in 2019 we added the Logbullet to our inventory of equipment, allowing us to offer a more specialised extraction service to a niche market.
Serving throughout Yorkshire, Country Durham, Cumbria, and as far as Northumberland, we have built up a client list including private estates, landowners, forestry contractors, and MOD contracts.
Why Use Low Impact Forestry
Traditional forestry focuses on the immediate value of timber, and the most efficient extraction methods. As a result heavy machinery is often used, causing significant damage to the forest floor. Amongst other things this can lead to soil compaction, damage to remaining tree stock, and have an ecological impact on wildlife.
Low Impact Forestry seeks to minimise any harm done during the felling and extraction process by using specialist equipment to carry out our operations. Our Logbullet forwarder solves a majority of these issues thanks primarily due to its size and manoeuvrability whilst working within densely wooded areas.
The ability to extract brash on virtually any site, also gives us the opportunity to utilise the first thinnings to be chipped into a biomass product, which would otherwise go to waste.
Above all, with years of experience operating plant and machinery, along with extensive knowledge of woodland management, Low Impact Forestry Ltd can offer a safe, productive, quality service with an unrivalled level of care when it comes to managing your cherished woodlands.
We offer free site visits where we are able to carry out a thorough assessment of your woodland and its feasibility for our forestry management solutions.
